New Year’s Wishes To All .. May 2011 be Golden!
A few years ago I decided to take a break from work to spend time in North America’s Desert Southwest. Translation: I did not allow myself to bring a camera while I experienced breathtaking sights as I hiked in the Sonoran Desert; Death Valley and the Mohave; the magnificence of Joshua Tree National Park; the Salton Sea.

Images of Saguaro National Monument have remained vividly imprinted on my mind’s eye. Perhaps I’ll return with a camera in-hand this year. I’m sorry I left my Canon at home!
I’m sorry you left the Canon at home, too, Alice. Although I can understand the occasional impulse to get out from behind the camera and simply see. I feel a little naked without the camera, myself. I find it lets me see… differently. This is another place in the world I’d love to visit. So many, so many!
Such a timely post for me – I’m on my way to Arizona in February. I’ll absolutely take the camera; some gorgeous visitas here! I’ve made a note of some of these places!
I am sure you felt it and lived it the more alice. One can spend too long seeing things thru the lens! Inspiring landscape. Thanks for sharing!
